History - Company Overview
South Florida Communications, Inc. established January 31, 2002, started their first location in Parkland, FL. With hard work and dedication, SFC was able to open 2 more locations by June 2002. After a year of proving themselves in the industry, SFC became Master dealers for Cingular Wireless in July of 2003. Due to high levels of performance and continued support of Cingular Wireless, SFC was able to rapidly grow to 15 locations and become one of the top 3 dealers of South Florida. By December of 2005, SFC had acquired a few more locations. SFC currently has 17 locations in the South Florida Market.
Since having only 2 employees at our first location, SFC currently employs over 65 people in South Florida. We are proud to also have one of the lowest turnover rates in the market. SFC has received numerous Jack Power House Awards, several Top Gun Awards and is consistantly in the top 5 power rankings in the market.
Mission Statement
SFC's mission is to become the most admired wireless communication retailer in the nation. We pride ourselves in providing mobile telecommunication solutions tailored to meet the specific and ever changing needs of our customers. SFC builds value for its stakeholders though the strength of our employees and customers' satisfaction, by consistantly producing superior results.
Corporate Team
Suleman Sadruddin
President
Suleman leads and overseas all financial aspects of South Florida Communications. He has an extensive educational and professional background in many different industries. He currently holds a degree in Electrical Engineering from the NED University of Engg & Technology in Karachi, Pakistan. He also holds a Masters degree in Finance from Oklahoma City University. He has worked as a Project Analyst for Siemens Engineering, a Financial Analyst for OCWEN Financial and has been apart of several small businesses and franchises. When Suleman is not working he enjoys doing community service activities, traveling with his family and friends or playing tennis and cricket.
Shafiq Lalani
Vice President
Shafiq brings his 15 + years of business experience to SFC and handles all retail development and expansion efforts. He is continuously in communication with landlords and is always keeping an eye out for potential new locations. Shafiq overseas inventory control functions, as well. He is always speaking with vendors, to ensure SFC can offer the best prices possible and ensuring all of our locations have the newest and coolest items. While Shafiq enjoys his work, he also enjoys playing tennis and spending time with his family.
Nuruddin Rajwany
Director of Sales
Nuruddin or better known to us as “Nick”, overseas the sales force for South Florida Communications. He is continuously training, motivating and rewarding the sales staff for their efforts in our locations. He has over 14 years of sales experience from Alamo Rent A Car to corporate sales with Tandy Corporation. He also has extended entrepreneurial experience with such franchises as Dunkin Donuts, Salad Creations and Hurricane Wings. Nick’s favorite pastime is “cruising” around the world.
Gayle Birken
Director of Loss Prevention
Gayle has been in the cellular industry since 1988, in various capacities. After leaving a major carrier, she joined South Florida Communications in November of 2005 and is often regarded as the ‘glue’ that holds the company together. Besides her main function as overseeing all aspects of Loss Prevention, Gayle takes on many different roles throughout her day at the office. She has attended Broward Community College and Nova Southeastern University, with a concentration in Business Administration. Gayle is also an avid bowler and has competed internationally, winning a Silver medal for team competition.
Mike Tuohy
Director of Operations
Mike is responsible for both IT and carrier commissions aspects of SFC. He has been with SFC since September 2008. Mike moved down to Florida from New York in 2003 and has a wife and daughter at home. He enjoys playing softball and is a big baseball and football fan.
